i can tell you on my 93 3.0 it was kinda a pain doing it at 3am so i could drive it to work at 730am... It actually wasent too horrible. the fan was a little hard to remove, and the bolts on the water pump were not too much fun but for my first time doing it i think it took me about 5 hours or so in the driveway

Yeah I know but I was tired. I worked all day ( 730-5) then got off work and the idler puller seized, along with the water pump leaking pretty good, on my way somewhere and I waited for the wrecker for a few hours then I had to get it all done by the time I had to be to work in the AM so i was moving kinda slow.

Water pumps are a PITA either way you put it.. to remove them generally means you have to pull the radiator after you drain it, pop the fan off, find all the bolts and remove them.. pull the old off - put the new on, gasket seal on it, torque it up rpoperly.. then do everythign in reverse..
it soudns simple, but it is a major PITA if you dont have the right puller tool for the fan - I had to adapt a buncha wierd tools to get it spinning right

tell ya what, if im taking the radiator out, i might as well replace it too, since its the same on when i bought the truck, hell i will redue everything up front, hard work, idk it seems that when working on a ranger or any other car is work, im not afraid of hard work though, will tackle this project soon.
