A/C Problem

I have an issue with the A/C clutch kicking on for about 2-3 seconds then shutting off. Any suggestions on what could be causing this?

As soon as you turn the a/C on it will spin 2-3 times and completely stop. You have to turn it off then back on and it will do it again. it will never stay on for more then 2-3 spins

If the compressor was freezing up, I would expect the belt to be squealing.

I am sure there are many things that can cause your symptoms but I do know that a low freon charge can cause the compressor to cycle more than it should and if the charge is low enough it will not stay on at all. You should probably take it to an A/C shop to get it diagnosed.
