tow weight

what is that max. tow weight i can tow with this 2000 ford ranger.
it has a 3.0 and is automatic.

Find the Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) in your owner's manual. That is the total allowable weight of the loaded truck w/passengers and fuel plus the loaded trailer. They will also probably give a max trailer weight but that assumes an unloaded truck with driver only. Any weight you add to the truck must be subtracted from the trailer rating to keep you below the GCWR..

i got a 99 ranger 4x4 3.0 w/ 4.10 gears manual says 4200 pounds

That's GVWR, not the "combined" weight rating, I believe. Do what Bob said and get an online copy of the manual -- the information you need is in there.

i dont know the max but here is what i pull in the summer trailer=3000lbs, 1 lawn mower= 460, the second lawn mover= 520, and crap in the bed= 300 an total of 4280lbs and i pull it without any problems other than s*** for gas mileage and when i put it to the floor it takes it a minute to get up and go but i am running 4.10 gears with an automatic 3.0L
