Does anyone have experience using one of these INNOVA 3145 OBD1 code readers with a 2.9L? I'm aware of the problem with the pins getting pushed into the case but I figure I can find a solution to that. I'm mainly wondering if it will easily provide the codes for the different tests that can be read using the jumper wire and CEL, and if it does anything that can't be done using the CEL. Some reviews complain that it did nothing more than jumper the connections, but I assume they didn't have all of the pins in the test plug.
Should you be one of the 95 members that have viewed this thread, you might be interested in this video that YouTube decided to put on my home page. It is the same code reader but the truck is obviously different. Note the page of engines he scans (left side is cars, right is trucks). 1995 4L apparently aren't compatible.
