K&N Air Filter?
I was wondering if this filter really help improve horsepower and gas mileage?
|
im pretty sure that it does, not very much tho, because its a highflow fliter that allows alot more air throught thus improving performance.

If you decide to get any gauze filter like that, be sure to oil it with the correct filter oil. Without the sticky oil, it is not much better than a window screen. Also, be sure to oil it according to the manufacturer's recommendation. Excessive oil can contaminate the MAF sensor.

My kn kit made my truck sound alot deeper...Many people has asked me if i have a V8...i just tell em I WISH...but i couldn't tell a difference in gas mileage
|
I think I need some help on this topic...
Thinkin about gettin one... |
just a drop in filter? its worth it in the long run, you dont have to buy paper ones. the performance gain is debatable, i would do the airbox mod first, then step up to a filter. its a shame AMSOIL doesnt make their air filter any more or id tell you to get that one!

The whole setup... |
the whole setup is debatable, its all about the money you want to spend. i got one for my truck, and it didnt seem any different than the airbox mod, for the prices K&N is asking, i dont think its worth it on the ranger, but if youve got the money, and you want to squeeze every last drop of performace out of your truck then go for it!
