knock knock goes the engine.
 

ok i think i might have a bottom end bearing goin out. i got a 91 2wd ranger xlt with a 3.0 and a 5 speed. it started doing this the other day.it starts to get a slight knock but only when i'm letting out the clutch from a stop or when the engine is being worked. it dont do it when it's idling or when its revved up. it has to be under load to hear it. im not quite sure if its a bottom end bearing or a lifter. you guys got any ideas?

well, i had something like that and it turned out to be a bad lifter but its hard to tell with noises like that sometimes to. I searched for months trying to find it. It also could be something with your tranny since its only under load or when you push the clutch.

i'm trying to figure it out before it gets real bad. this wat it might be easier and cheaper to fix. i'm hopinf it's a lifter.what could make that noise if its in the clutch? i know i sound like an idiot asking that but im used to big diesel engines. working on these little trucks seems like im playing with a tonka truck. lol but the only way im gonna find out is to ask. no matter how stupid i sound. any and all help is much appreciated.
