Lower Radiator Hose

Does anyone know what hose is coming off of the water pump? the lower Radiator hose connects to the bottom of the T piece then I believe a heater hose is connected at the t portion. Then at the top of the T A hose goes from there to the Water pump. I cant find this hose anywhere and am wondering if someone who owned the truck prior made this whole setup? As you can see i need to replace those hoses.

that is an aftermarket hose, looks a lot like the one I got from RockAuto. That's how it should look. I forget where it went, but I do remember it pissed me off. :D

Check up by the thermostat or just under it. Mine had that but I took it off years ago. Someting to do with getting the engine warm quicker. I'll look for a pic for ya.

Found it. It's the one under the sending unit, aiming down. Hope this helps.

What is this used for? Is it just to help warm the engine faster? I really need to know because mine started leaking (from rust ) and i just removed the fitting and replaced it with the sensor, and plugged the hose...

Edit:
Well 60 miles and no problems guess I will just replace the lower hose with one that does not have this extra line running from it

Well atleast I'm not alone!

From my guess it is just an overflow/back-feed hose, I actually found a diagram for a slightly older model that showed the sensor in that port anyways...

Next task to tackle is flushing the system, now that I fixed the leak!
