Magnaflow or Borla

Ok I am getting ready to upgrad my performance of my ranger. So far I am going to order the K&N air filter intake setup,BamaChips Custom Xcalibrator 2 Tuner,Underdrive Crank Pulley w/ gator belt. Now what exhaust would be better a Magnaflow '98-'06 Single Outlet Rear-Side Exit Cat-Back Exhaust System or a Borla ProXS exhaust system? What would be better for performance. I dont want it to be like the flowmaster overly loud. Looking for one that will give me a nice power increase as well as sounding good. Thanks for all your help.

I have that magnaflow setup and I love it. Its much different than the flows. I dont know what the borlas sound like but my vote is with the magnaflow.

It depends what Flowmaster you're talking about because most are not as loud as a Magnaflow. A Magnaflow muffler is usually just a straight through design (glass pack) instead of chambered like a flowmaster. And Borla is a lot of hype and WAY WAY over priced. If you don't want it REAL loud get a chambered muffler of any brand and put a resonator (glass pack/cherry bomb) in the middle of everything to give it a nice sound. I make custom mandrel bent exhausts for fun on the side and speak from a lot of experience.

I don't think those two should be compared side by side. lol

I <3 my Flow 40 SI/DO

Go for the borla if you're looking for performance.

My brother put flowmaster on his 2001 chevy silverado and his dodge ram 1500 and I didn't care for them on newer model cars on my 1978 gmc they sound good. I want all out performance is my man goal. Where are soem goods prices on a borla? Also how much more power does a borla system crate more then a magnaflow? Thanks for all the help.

Ebay is your friend! Get the part# you're looking for from Borla's site then search for it on ebay motors.

Same power different sound. You didnt ask for all out power you said you didnt want a lot of sound. A Borla and Magnaflow will be VERY loud because they are straight through systems. And will both give you more power. Borla will be about 25% more money.

Sound clips never do anything justice IMO. They give you a idea.Do really hear them you have to be next to them.

Yeah I switched mufflers from my previous Flow 40 series SI/DO to my current Borla ProXS SI/DO and the borla is quieter, but has a less buzzy sound, more "refined" sound if you will.. both setups were dumped too for extreme loudness

Are there any places I can buy a complete borla system? Because the charge too much down here for them to install it.
