Might help if you include what year truck and engine you have.

Go ahead and make a signature, it will allow people to help you a lot easier.

Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor is what that acronym usually stands for. Not sure if 3.0's have one but I know that they have a Delta Pressure feedback sensor of EGR (DPFE) and those somewhat commonly fail on 3.0's

that was a little exaggerated, but ok.. if no one replies, they obviously don't know, or don't want to put you in the wrong direction.. now calm down, and be patient, maybe someone will help you.

Ok further reading and I fins that a car will eather have a MAP or a MAF sensor but not both. i'm pretty sure that a 95 3.o has a MAF and DPFE sensors. the MAF would be between the air filter cover and the intake snorkel, a DPFE if I remember correctly is mounted to the side of the intake manifold.

I posted two links, one for the pressure feedback sensor, and one for the a MAF sensor.. check the pressure feedback, if that doesnt fix it, shoot for the MAF..

Yep, told you they commonly fail on 3.0's. However, I had a 90 Cougar with the 3.8L that had a bad EGR sensor. Yes, you would want it taken care of to pass emissions but the worst it does to the vehicle is the occasional stalling out, but it will start right back up no problem. BTW are you sure your vehicle isn't exempt form emissions testing, I thought they only care if it's ODB2, which is what all vehicles converted to for the 1996 model year.
