-borla, gibson, magnaflow are pretty mellow, but sound good on a V6.
-flowmaster is one of the louder mufflers, and gets raspy when you get the revs up there.. cherry bombs are the same way usually.

I put a $20 cherrybomb from autozone and love it. IT doesnt sound ricy like some say. Just make sure you have the stock distance still going out the back for a deeper sound, shorter the worse it sounds.

Borla is good, it has a good mellow tone to it, you won't get tired of it. Glasspacks are quite loud and will have a lot of cab noise...

flowmaster racing muffler, just be sure to put it in the same spot as the stock muffler or your cab noise will drive you nuts

I replace my stock muffler with a Flowmaster original 40 series almost 5 years ago. It was LOUD.
At 70 MPH, about 2800 RPM, it was so loud in the cab that if I had a passenger in my truck
and we wanted to have a conversation, we had to almost scream at each other. That gets old in a hurry.
Even Flowmaster admits now "The 40 Series will generate extreme interior resonance within the vehicle."
Unfortunately they had no such warning when I purchased mine. In less than a year I exchanged it for a Magnaflow.
Better, but still a bit loud for my tastes. The in cab resonance however isn't to bad. I can live with it.
Will admit that most of the teenagers and 20 somethings told me they really liked the sound of the Flowmaster.
I'm almost 70, so that might have something to do with it.

Gibson mufflers are good for a nice deep mellow sound that isnt too loud but not too quite. Lets just say go with gibson if you dont want something obnoxiously loud =P

EDIT: when you're driving you can definitely hear the exhaust, but its not annoying and its not loud. I havent experienced any 'droning' at all.

we have some sound clips on our website of the headers and exhaust systems we offer.

Each company is pretty uniuque on sound - it all varies depending on inlet and outlet diameter and muffler design
