Mystery Squeel....Need Help!

Ok it doesnt do it all the time but lately theres a high pitched squeel coming from my engine when i go above 1500 rpms. At first I thought it was just my belt but now I know its much louder to be that. I think its coming from a pulley or my alternator. If anyone has a clue any help would be much appriciated.

Tensioner needs a 15mm wrench. That'll relieve the tension so you can take off the belt. The same wrench will take off the tensioner pulley as well as the idler pulley. Pulleys run about $18 each. Single bolt for each pulley, re-use them. Doesn't get much easier than that.

While you have the belt off, start it and rev to 1500 to see if squeal remains without the belt. Rules out those two pulleys, makes it likely the CMP. Don't run more than 20 seconds or so with the belt off. No water flow=quick overheat.

Well maybe thats it. I just hope it doesnt have to do with the trans. Its only when im in gear. When im cruzin out of gear you cant hear it. but if im parked and i rev. it squeels again.

does the squeel increase when u press on the pedal? If so then its just your pullies, bearings etc.
