Mystery vacuum line help!
 

Hey everyone! so this is my first post on the site and i have a little problem with my 1990 Ranger it has a 2.9 v6 that runs good but i’ve found a stray vacuum line in the engine bay thats sucking, but only one end is attached i have some pictues here. If you have any idea where it might go or what is does i’d really appreciate the help!

The vacuum line i’m referring to is the line attached to the bottom here

And this is the other end.

On the drivers side try EVAP solenoid
EVAP Canister(Black box) is usually on the drivers side rad support, it has a vacuum line that runs to the gas tank, and then a vacuum line that runs to the engine, EVAP solenoid/valve is on this line

But plug it until you find its "home"

Driver side, at the bottom of your first picture, is the FPR(fuel pressure regulator), it has a vacuum line

Passenger side is the vacuum reservoir(on top of heater box)

I don't think 1990 2.9l had an EGR system

Okay after a little screwing around with it I found its “home” the drivers side pcv on the valve cover had the top plug covered with some jerry rigged roofing tape ugh. So i pulled that off cleaned out the hole plugged the mystery hose right up, also the main hose from pcv to throttle plate area wasn’t sealed at all so i wrapped some electrical tape around the pcv nozzel to widen the diameter of it so that the hose would seal now everything seems to fit where it should! Truck has MUCH better throttle response now! Thanks for the help!
