not sure what is going on. my truck has about 40,000 mi on it and all of a sudden it hesitates and jerks when im driving on the highway at a steady throttle. i'm also getting the pinging noise when i excelerate, mostly when it's in overdrive. so far i have replced the following: plugs, wires, fuel filter ,air filter, coil pack. i also did a seafoam treatment, and cleaned the maf sensor. all this and it still runs bad.can anyone help me with this problem

Is your check engine light on? What year is your truck? Does it idle okay? Manual or auto tranny?

the truck is a 2001 mazda b3000 dual sport ext. cab, automatic. it seems to idle pretty good but the pinging is awfull when i accelerate.as far as the hesitation , it all started when i got a check engine light. i brought it to a shop and the code was # 1 cylinder misfire. they told me it was a bad coil. well i put a new coil on and the problem is still there. i don't know what else to check. it does seem to get worse when the a/c is on

what was the check engine light code that they read?

you seemed to rule out the major causes (fuel, basic electrical) so I'm interested to know what else it could be.

Mine used to hesitate when the engine's cold (and even more when it's cold outside), and it threw code #63 for the throttle position sensor (TPS). I never remedied the problem, so I don't know if it'll make a difference for me and I don't know if you have the same problem, but you could have the shop test the sensor if you don't know where else to turn.

A failing EGR DPFE can cause that symptom. I've had it twice.

If you wait long enough, it WILL eventually throw a code, like P1401.

If your DPFE is the metal one, I'd suspect it has internal corrosion. Pull the hoses off it and look for white powdery dust. If you decide to replace it, get the plastic version. There are cheaper ones for sale online, at auto parts stores they run about $60.

Here's what a bad one looks like inside:
