Intake Manifold Gasket Install - Use RTV too?
2000 Ranger 3.0L 2WD (Standard Gas) new motor intall. Motor going in tonight. Should I put a thin film of RTV on both sides of the gasket for the intake manifold to head surface gasket . I'll be putting some on the ends of the front and rear seals at the tabs too.
Also should I use some RTV on the valve cover gaskets. Both cover & head sides?
P.S. I've taken a lot of photos and will post a DIY re R&R of a remanufactured motor soon
Thanks

Small amount of silicon - Sounds Good
Hey FX4....Sounds good to me. It was just that the old motor had evidence of blue rtv on both the intake and the head? Maybe some do and some don't. But good to hear that it is not needed. Once I put too much on another vehicle and it bulged into the manifold.
Anybody have a different opinion?
Thanks
