well I'm considering put back the rubber pipe, because the pvc weigth is heavy, also does'nt have to much move when the motor accelerate.
I put this 2-1/2'' pvc pipe thinking in more diameter than the stock one, so more free air is entering. (sorry about my english)
Well does any body knows where I can find a CAI aluminum pipe for this, not all the kit, as you can see I have the fliter and everything else I just want the pipe with his curves and forms.
Thanks any way for your advices and your opinions.

personally, I think with a little paint it won't look so bad...I'm more for functionality myself...screw looks!!! lol, nah but at least it was a good project. In all honesty I was thinking of doing a PVC intake myself, but I may spring the extra few $$$ to get a pipe done at a muffler shop.
BTW, you're sucking up a whole bunch of hot air with that filter being uncovered. That's probably why you're not noticing any difference (though intakes don't add much anyway, unless you make it a true cai). Add a heatshield (or extend the pipe into the fenderwell) and some insulation/paint and I think you'll be good to go. You'd be surprised the difference it makes when you're grabbing cold air instead of hot underhood air. Ever wonder why your vehicle accelerates just a little bit harder before it heats up?

I was thinking of trying such a thing myself on the intake. Paint it with "aluminum paint" so it reflects heat and I think it would be pretty good.
That looks like one of the aluminum hoods. I'd like to find one to fit my Edge and get rid of the "powerdome" -- better visibility offroading without that bulge. Also, the fiberglass Edge hood is WAY heavy, and those aluminum ones are as light as the fiberglass is heavy.

You are not Kidding. I was working on an '05 Mustang today. I noticed while drilling into the hood that it was Aluminum. The hood was very very light compared to the power dome on my '04.
Does any know what years had aluminum? I didn't know Rangers/b-series had them at all.

My daughter Candice (RangerNovice is her handle here on the board) has a 1998 Ranger with the aluminum hood. I almost threw it over the cab the first time I opened it -- I was expecting a LOT more weight, lol.
So, for sure they were around in 1998. Not sure about what years have them and don't.
