If money is a big concern, just get a Super Tech filter (actually not that bad, and only $2.07) and Super Tech oil (again, not that bad really). You could probably do an oil change with Super Tech synthetic for $15-17.
If you can afford to spend a little more, pretty much any oil will be fine. Mobil 1, Castrol, Havoline, and others have all been proven to be good oils.
For filters, you won't do any better than a Motorcraft IMO, but Super Tech, Purolator, AC Delco and STP are all fine. In fact I think Super Tech, AC Delco and STP are all made by Champion Labs. I would avoid Fram. Their construction is not the greatest and they are way more expensive than they should be.
With oil, if it has an API seal on the bottle, you won't be doing any harm, assuming you have reasonable oil change intervals and use the correct weight.
