Icon3 Oil Pressure gauge

hello guys,
I am having an issue with my oil pressure gauge. I was leaking coolant from my waterpump last month, and was in between paychecks at the time. Needless to say , my truck over heated on my drive home. I pulled over to let it cool down and drove the last few blocks with the heater on. the next day i replaced the water pump, with the battery disconnected, and flushed the coolant. well when i went to turn on the truck, the OIL Pressure gauge had completely gone full cirlce and was now BELOW the Low level needle stop. I have since repalced the oild pressure sensor, thinking that would reset, but no dice. have any of you had this isuue? im thinking i can take apart the dash and just reset by hand, is this a good fix? what do you recommend?: I have attached a picture for you guys to veiw.

woah. I didnt even know they could go that far.. I would try resetting it but it might not be a one time fix. Maybe it just jarred out of place somehow? I know my gauges do all sorts of wacky s*** when I re-connect the battery.

Yeah, it is pretty simple. I am not sure about yours but on mine (an '02) there are 3 small bolts at the top that need to come out and I think maybe part of the plastic around the steering column. The gauges will come out all in one big piece and you will see how to remove the plastic covering and you may be able to very gently pry the needle up over that stud thingy.

I do admit, I have never seen that before!

This will show you how to get the gauges out. After that, take out the screws around the plastic cover and use a fork to gently lift the needle off the gauge face.

Make sure you don't put the needle back on too far or else it won't move when you start the truck. Hook the gauges back up and start your truck to make sure the needle is on good enough before you put all the panels back on.

Trust me, it's a real PITA to have to take everything back off just to adjust one needle.

I just guided mine back around in a clockwise direction gently, with my finger, and it 'stayed' put and worked properly again.......

I had exactly the same thing happen, but it was when my buddy accidentally kicked my fuel reset switch out of place while at a stop light, didn't cause any issues, so I never bothered to fix it.....maybe now I'll give it a shot
