It should go off once you put the new sensor in. Mine did.

How its just am aftermarket gauge, the stock one is unplugged.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the stock one is unplugged." My sensor wasn't unplugged. It was plugged into the original sensor. I just unplugged it, used the ratchet to remove the original one, put the new one in, and plugged it back in.

if you don't care about the dummy gauge or idiot light for oil pressure, just ground the bastid and use your aftermarket gauge =) (awaiting the why-nots) -- wow, a very old long dead thread, I'm getting ready to swap mine out for real gauge... wanted to do mod of gauge already in dash but it seems less than possible on a 2000.
