Oil pressure sensor & Spark plugs
98 Xlt ranger
2wd Extended Cab V6 3.0 156k So I'm trying to finish up a tuneup on my 98 Ranger, the last thing I really need is just the spark plugs and well another little situation... I came across some threads that explained how ford made the waste/distributor and how the spark plus were different in each head, etc (I can't lie it was fairly confusing as I'm still learning ) after a couple of reads I can't seem to figure out what type of plugs I need, I understand that they need to be double platinum but I can't find a definitive answer... with that being said what spark plug brand, material, and size (or part #) would I need? would I also need 2 different types of plugs? the other thing is my oil pressure sensor... well rather the connection going to the sensor... I had noticed I wasn't getting a reading for the oil pressure. As I went to replace the sensor and found it was just fine but without the cable (or clamp?) after finding the connection the cable was somehow mangled/ripped and I'm struggling to find a repair. could I still replace the connection? is there a replacement for the connector? ( ill post a picture as soon as I can) |
The original plugs, one side was platinum tip, the other side was platinum electrode.
Double platinum takes care of that problem, those are what you now need. |
Your oil pressure switch connector can be found at a Wrecking yard, any Fords around your year should use the same oil pressure switch and connector
