Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick

Hi everyone, my name is Cory, this is my first post. Last weekend, I bought a 2001 Ranger XLT Supercab 3.0. The man I bought it from was a Ford tech for 5 years, and he put a 100k junkyard motor in after the original owner blew the motor. He said it was 30-day warrantied (hah!), but he pulled it apart to see what he was working with. I thought, and sorta still think, that I hear noisy lifters, but he said that the valvetrain was spotless and in great shape. Basically everywhere I look I see new gaskets. I have driven approximately 250 miles since, at a max of 80mph for 35 miles. The truck maintains constant oil pressure regardless of load, there is no loss of power, no smoke, idle seems good (but my first ranger, so I have no baseline), constant voltage, constant temperature. I have premium with seafoam in it now, and a few oz in the oil before I change to Mobil 1 5w-20 tomorrow.

The sound is almost like a card in a tire. It is almost quiet unless I give it gas and there is a consistent tick with increased rpms. It immediately stops when I release throttle. I took my stethoscope and went prodding around and the fuel injectors are ticking like mad. I know you are supposed to hear them, but damn these are loud. I will try to attach a video to give you the exact sound, but right now it will not work. Any advice helps, thanks.

Tick tock

Possibly exhaust manifold gasket ? Especially since it diminishes on throttle release. I would think a lifter or valve would be consistent.

I have read that might be an issue. Nothing looks like it is being coated in exhaust gases, but the sound was kinda heavy when I put my ear into the driver wheel well earlier. I don't have a shop vac, but I can get access to one and then blow through the exhaust right? The fan is so powerful when moving I can't distinguish a leak. Thanks
