Intakes & water

Hey people does any body has a problem with this air filter intakes and getting water in!!!
I'm planning to buy one for my 2001 Mazda B3000, but I'm afraid to get water inside my motor is this situations;
rain (very hard rain) at 65mph
crossing a flood
getting fast into a pothole in the street
every body may be strange about my comentaries but I'm from Puerto Rico and the roads are not very good, and in a rain flash flood in every place.
This things are make me think if is a good alternative for me.

You will be fine with an intake and going through water, just don't go flying through it so it goes all over the truck.

But are you sure no water is coming in?
I break a suzuki sidekick motor with a cone filter, I pass very fast a pothole with about 8'' of water and beleive me almost a liter of water was found in the crankcase.

if you are driving through water that is up to the top of the tires, you will be fine as long as you take it slow. you can make a shield that goes under the filter to block out the water from coming in from the bottom

my friend blew his 3.0L motor up by is cold air intake sucking up to much water, but mine i havent had 1 problem yet with my cold air intake(knocking on wood.)before with my stock air box my filter got wet it seemed like everytime i went and played in the mud, then my truck ran like crap till it dried out. so i use to just carry a couple of spare airfilter in my tool box.

i had water suck into my open cold air filter, killed it, but i was luky enough for it to start again and after about a week it was fine again.

open filters on an off-road truck is a bad idea
