Oil Guage/Pressure Problem

Oil Guage/Pressure Problem
I have a problem with the Oil gauge reading zero when you first crank it up in the morning. After a few minutes of warming up needle moves to normal position and then stays there. Check engine light also comes on when this happens as well. It doesn't happen in the afternoon when I leave work after it's been sitting in sun all day. I'm trying to determine if the its a faulty oil sensor or do I have another problem. Maybe with the Oil pump etc. I have taken truck to Autozone to read any stored codes, but for some reason their computer want read the codes and gives an error while connecting. They said something may be wrong with connector/computer and or fuse. I have replaced the "Datalink fuse" but still does not work. Any ideas?
