Actually A/C will cut out at WOT just as an EGR and a few other things. Having A/C should have little to no affect.

Also PLEASE send me a PM when your going to go again. I'd love to race another ranger! Atleast if I get beat its by a ford! I have no idea what my truck runs and Ive never been to a real track to race. Itd take me a few tires to figure out how to launch correctly with low tire spin.

The pervious owner of my truck, which is my coworker raced it and all it had was the K&N Fipk, a superchips tune, and cat back exhaust at the time and ran high 15s. I havent really changed anything on it other than underdog wires and autolite xp's as far as the engine goes.... His new all stock 05 4.0 auto extended cab 4x4 runs mid 16s.

Wow. And I thought my 3.0 was slow.

Having O/D off will make no difference. Your truck tacks out before shifting into O/D right? What would it help by not having an extra gear to shift into?

I hit 5th before I crossed the finish line and as soon as it does hit 5th everythnig slows down big time...so the last 100 feet or so I was gaining hardly any speed

but I dont know about the whole turning o/d off...seems to me like that wouldnt do anything...hopefully the BAMA tuner and more practice will solve the slow time problems

lol no one even knows what overdrive does.
next time your sitting at a red light, turn the OD off and punch it (when the light turns green) and see what it does.

you will be surprised.

Overdrive is only for the top gear. It shouldn't hurt you taking off in 1st. Atleast I am pretty sure of that

^^^ I agree... If you have it to the floor and your top speed at the track was only 75mph then you should not have hit overdrive.

Werty, have you done the gas pedal mod? The one to tighten up your stretched throttle cable? That could make a real difference, I know it did in my truck...

I need to go to the track. I'm hoping to run somewhere around there but I have 32's so I will probably be slower than that.

i run an 1/8th at 10.44 which correlates to i think low 16's in running 4.10's open diff with 30's rims and tires weight 60 a piece. cant wait to drop 10-12.5 off each tire :)

i have the screamin demon coil pack, underdrive pulley set, aluminum idler pulley, rogue maf combo kit, x-cal2 with 87mpg,87 performance,93 performance tunes, Flow master 40, and the 4.10 open diff that came with it. i went yesterday but i was spinning or wheel hopping in first and then burning through second. no matter what i did i couldn't get it to stop. i eventually had to launch at idle to not spin and granny it in 2nd gear. made my times like 11's most of the day. next mods will be rims and tires and traction bars.

yeah it sucks to see something with such a small motor go so fast... but eh I dont care lol.

Im just hoping to get into the single digits with my old work horse and still be just as reliable as the day I got it.

Agreed with sickranger here. There talking about dragging a 1/4 ton Pickup truck. It's not meant to go fast from the factory.

best I did was 17.735 @ 96 or so in the 1/4. That was with my Jet programmer and a cold night in Feb.

EDIT: that was before the airbox mod, wires/coil, and I had old plugs
