ok...I'm sure I am making this harder than should be. I'm replacing my exhaust from the muffler back. new exhaust has no muffler... glass packs in the tips instead. the existing muffler is held in place by a clamp on top. how do i remove the muffler from this clamp? it is incredibly rusted so difficult to see, especialy at this angle.

I used an angle grinder to get mine off.

 

cut it off...hacksaw. originally thought stock muffler so assumed someone here could tell me how to remove. more i looked at it, realized not stock muffler and whoever installed put this damn clamp thing on that rusted to bejesus. Heartthrob cat-back exhaust installed, y-pipe after cat with dual out. glasspacks in the tips. sounds great. will never sound like a V8...but atleast sounds like a truck now. highly recommend.
