Rough Idle

Every now and then my truck will idle rougly and some times shut off right after I turned it on. I replaced all spark plugs, thinking that was the issue, its not. What could it be? A clogged fuel filter? Recharge my K&N air filter? Anything else I should look at?

Fuel filter could be that, but i would expect problems though all rpm ranges. I would be sure to clean the IAC be sure to use electronic cleaner.

I had that rough idling for about 2-3 weeks and then my truck stopped, thought about the starter being bad, took the tranny and **** off then found out that my flywheel had 5 cracks in it and the flex plate was warn really terribly.

^God I hope thats not it. If it is, i'm screwed.

Haha it was a huge pain, broke down friday at like 2:30 gutted by 9 and back together on wednesday. I was just glad it wasn't something more major and that my dad and I did it all ourselves.

my truck did that once and cleaning out the IAC valve and it sorted it out. another time it was one of my o2 sensors taking a dump. another time my muffler fell off and it idled low and rough. i think my fuel filter caused that problem once also.

id say run some seafoam and clean out your throttle body and see what happens

Problem fixed. It was a simple vacuum line that was dry rotted, and just fell off. :pat:
