Ruff idle after Sea Foam, check engine light on
I used sea foam today and the light came on. It starting running ruff and shaking. I put more gas in to dilute it, it helped but it still has the issue. Should I reset the computer by unhooking the battery? I heard it also could be a carbon build up on the plugs, or the O2 sensor. Should I just get the codes pulled? Any ideas would be great.

I think you are supposed to change your plugs after you seafoam it. I could also be a whole bunch of camel snot crap that coats the exhaust after you use it, I have seen a few bad cases of that happening on outboard motors. Personally I don't want to see that gunk anywhere near my O2 sensors and catalytic converter, so no sea-foaming for me.

I would get the codes. Autozone and Advance Auto usually do them for free. Then you can do the research. Did it fix itself?

Change / clean the plugs.
It is common for one or more to foul after a seafoam treatment . |

Its supposed to start like crap. It took me a second crank to get my rig started. Then it mellowed out, and gave it some gas for the smoke show! Take it for a good rip on the hwy. I dumped 3/4 bottle in my brake booster vac line and the remainder in the fuel tank. Runs great. |
