How big is the Y pipe?
So when I removed my transmission a while ago I had to cut the Y pipe (like the retard I am) in order to get it out as I couldn't get the bolts from the exhaust manifold to come lose. I had no air tools at this time. Now it leaks pretty bad as I used some cheap clamps to put it back together. I want to use a band style clamp so I can get a better seal. If that doesn't work I'll have to pull it all off and weld it but I don't want to go through all that work if it will seal correctly with the band styler clamp. I can only find them in 2" as the smallest, if its smaller than that any other ideas?

Since your up north, you could always get some furnace cement to seal it up, I cant find it here in fl

I had to mess with my clamp a bit to get it seal better, first time I took around the block it was leaking horribly, Its pretty good now. you can usually only hear it when you get on it, and its not too bad.
Mines where I can't quite reach the top of it to weld.
I just think with the cement, You'll want a nice thick layer all the way around, that way it wont be able to come off.
