3.0L Problems
Hey There, Im at my wits end and looking for some help. My 93 Ranger 3.0L stalls. But its very Spurratic. Somedays itll drive all day and run smooth as silk, other days I cant get a city block without it cutting out. Itll do it at high rpms or at idle, doesnt matter. it will start right back up. It doesnt stumble or shoot my tack all over the place when it des cut out it just drops to 0. I have tried plugs n wires, coil pack, distributer, distributer cap and rotor, battery, fuel pump and filter, air filter, no vaccum leaks, just recently cleaned the throttle body and fuel injectors. Im not sure where to go next, thinking the MAF sensor but Im just grasping at straws. There is no check engine light so no codes that i know of to go off of. Has anyone had this problem? or heard of it? any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you have a lot of keys on your key ring?
IGNITION SWITCH. Try banging and jiggling that thing while you are driving. Heck, take the cover off so you can really get at it. If it's bad, you should be able to recreate the problem sitting still.
I also recall a poster recently had his PCM Power Diode loosely installed. His would cut off at random too till he found that. I admit, I have no idea if your year even has that diode tho'. His was in the underhood junction box, by the PCM fuse or relay, I can't recall exactly.

intake leaks
if its got the plastic intake , check the manifold gaskets, had a similar issue on my daugnters 97 4.0, on gasket was gone. you can check it by running the truck and spraying some carb spray or wd near the gasket areas to test , rpm will rise if it is leaking any. That will cause it to die. Just an idea.
