That's the right one. How are you trying to put it on? It's tight, but it can be done. The last place you put it on is the stationary idler pulley and you have to get it tight around everything else first. It's a royal pain with the fan shroud in the way like it is.

That is the right 3.0 belt though -- replaced them twice in my 90K miles. And I won't use anything but a Gatorback.

You have the other pulley maxed out you mean? The one that moves. I just want to make sure we're talking the same language here: the smooth pulley at the top of the engine is the last one you put it around. Get someone to help you and you can pry it down under that one.

Then I'm out of suggestions, sorry. It's tough when Gatorbacks are new, but I was able to do it. It really does help to have 2 folks: one to hold the bar, the other to pry the belt into place using the handle of a ratchet or something else rounded that won't damage the belt.

True, I put Gatorbacks on both my trucks on my own, it is no easy task.

They don't seem to be in bad condition, is this normal?

They could be fine in your climate. Out here the weather's a little hard on the rubber, and our ozone levels.

Might be a good idea to change the belt -- you only have one...unless you are counting the one holding up your trousers...

I just changed mine on a 05 3.0 with A/C and used a different gatorback belt
The # I used was 4060895
it is about 1.3 inches longer and should take care of your problem.
