bamachips actual gains

Years ago ('02 '03) a member (I beleive on Gen-Edge.com) actually Dyno'ed and posted the gains of the bamachips performance tunes on the 3.0. I think he saw a 10 hp increase across the band with it. He felt it was worth the money. He also actually dyno'ed the ranger with the air-box mod and found that on the 3.0 it actually hurt perfromance.

Please define "oomph" if it is not HP or TQ.
Or are you stating you want numbers and not "seat-o-the-pants-o-meter" results?
The numbers game is great. Depending on the vehicle and tune, they vary, wildly. The standard 8HP and 8lb/ft TQ is toss around quite frequently, but it really depends on the condition of the vehicle, the miles, the use, the fuel, altitude and many other variables.
Here is a GREAT example - this is my Wife's Explorer, this is a TQ tune, but the basic premise holds true for all:
Stock:
Tune:
Overall, there was an ~5HP gain and a 4TQ loss. So, if it is a TQ tune, why did I gain HP and lose TQ?
Pretty simple, peak numbers mean squat. It's tough to convince people of this because all anyone ever thinks about is peak numbers. Well, peak mean didly on the street. Look at the bottomend, there is a 15HP and 50lb/ft gain off idle, and 30lbs through the useable rpm range.
