Straight piped
Unbolted everything from the cats back today and it sounds good in idle and when you giveit alittle gas but to me it sounds ricey when in the high rpm ranger. And wow I lost alot of power :dead1: . Sound clips to come

I had mine straight dualed out the back from cat back, sounded good. It's a lot different with tail pipes.
|
hurry the **** up and get the sound clips up.

I don't know because I bought the truck from a buddy 2 years ago and the system was already on there, however I did hear it when it was just cut off and it sounded nothing like it did with tail pipes and big tips. He said he could tell an improvement from stock when he had it though, however I can't justify that.

for all you impatient folks:
https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ad.php?t=21035 I call that open exhaust on a ranger.........RASPY! |
Youv got a 4.0 though
|
I lost power when I cut my old muffler off. I was glad to get a new one on!
|
I almost did this the other day, I was bored and I had all my tools outside :-)

I have my 3.0 auto straight piped. Its dumped right before the rear axle, I gained alot of power back rather then just running it straight outa the cat....Still not as good as stock, but I like it.

my friends 4.0 with everything un bolted sounds horrible so does my flomaster though, anyone know of an exhaust that sounds deeper?
|
have you tried a thrush turbo muffler? i put one on my grand cherokee with a 4.0 and it sounds pretty good. not raspy or ricey. my buddy put duels on his 3.0 ranger with cats on each side and thrush turbos and it sounds great.
