I have a 99 3.0 4x4 and want to run synthetics what brand do ya'll recommend

I tried Royal Purple in my 5.0 Mustang. It was $7.00 a quart and I didn't notice any difference. I didn't put 1000 miles on it last year. I put about 9,000 a year on my Ranger and use what ever I can get on sale or with a rebate. I think I saved about $130 dollars staying with conventional oil verses synthetic. MotorCraft has a synthetic blend an it between the two prices. I get that feeling every time I go in for a case of oil, 12 quarts conventional for the price of 5 quarts of synthetic ... to me its a no brainer! Good Luck...

Pennzoil Platinum, it fairs very well in used oil analysis reports, especially when compared to "some" synthetics that are $2 or $3 more per quart. So when it goes on sale at your local parts house (I've seen it as low as $3.99/quart), buy in bulk.

Schaeffer oil is bar none the best, but good luck finding it and be willing to pay the price (Usually only performance shops sell it).

you can get 100 people to answer this and get 100 different answers and it always turns into an argument. my advise to you is to find a full synthetic oil thats reasonably priced and use it.

I use Royal Purple in the Mustang, I've always heard good things about it. I noticed a difference when I changed over, haven't had any issues so I keep using it. It's expensive oil but I don't drive the car much. One oil change in the spring when I get it out with fresh Royal Purple, and I put in a no-name full synthetic at the end of the season when it goes into storage.
For my DD's (Ranger & Focus) I use Castrol Syntec because I've always had good luck with Castrol products and you can usually pick it up pretty cheap on sale.

I just use Pennzoil Synthetic oil

My dad has been a sales rep for Schaeffer's for 15+ years and they by far surpass any other type of full synthetic oil out there. Period. They are the one of the oldest if not the oldest lubricant manufacturer in the world starting in 1839. Its the best quality and the best price, considering you can go 5 thousand per oil change easily. I know people once they see how good it is that will go 10 thousand in their vehicles and the oil still looks good. They make all kinds of weights for any vehicle and they are all full synthetic. Schaeffers doesn't just make engine oil either, they make the best greases and transmission fluid out there too. Anything lube wise for your vehicle, they make it. Anyone switching oils will see better performance, ive seen the comparisons and tests and schaeffers comes out ahead. Any mechanic who does alot of business has heard of schaeffers and the reason that alot of people haven't is because they do not advertise. They sell the best quality products and do not need to. I use Motorcraft

Motocraft is not a "full synthetic" oil. Thats the thing alot of people dont realize about oils that claim to be full synthetic. A majority of them are only partially synthetic and there aren't too many you will find that are actually a true fully synthetic product. Thats one thing puts schaeffer's on the top of the ladder.

Motorcraft doesn't claim anywhere to be a full synthetic, nor did I say it was. Didn't mean for it to sound that way
