IGNITON COIL REPLACEMENT 3.0
Hello my name is Erick, this is my first post. I replaced the ignition coil on my 2007 Ford Ranger 3.0 V6 at 130,000 miles. I was having a OBD CODE P0303. So i decided to replace the ignition coil just to eliminate a ignition problem. I also replaced the spark plugs, and spark plug wires. The car is starting up way smoother and running better. Now this is my concern, this is the original ignition coil
( Motorcraft 5F2E-12029-AA)
This is the new Ignition Coil i purchased from Amazon
(Motorcraft DG-532 5F2E-12029-AB)
MAIN QUESTION! IS THIS THE CORRECT IGNITION COIL REPLACEMENT

Yes, it is Revision AB, so the next newer revision since AA
Ford Part numbers decode like this:
Year/model-part number- Revision
5F2E-12029-AB
5F is 2005 year, this is when this part last had a MAJOR change, not just a revision, last major change may have been in 1998 so it would have F8 at the start and that part would have been used until 2004
2 is generic model not specific to a Ranger, which means this part was used in other models
E denotes Engine part
12029 is part number of ANY Ford ignition Coil not year or engine specific, i.e. 3W7Z-12029-AA is a single coil for Ford V8
AB is the revision number, AC would be next revision, AA previous revision
