Yes it works really good. I did mine at 72,xxx and will probably do it again at 100xxx.

My truck was running a little rough after I start it up in the morning and being cold. My throttle response was a little sluggish. I put 1/3 in the fuel tank, 1/3 in the vacuum hose by master cylinder and 1/3 in with the oil. After that my truck ran smoother on first start up and noticed a 1-2mpg gain. My acceleration is better then before. I normally use lucas fuel injector additive once in a while too just to help keep it clean. I notice my truck runs better on Chevron gas then 76 or other places like rotten robbie, arco etc...just my .02cents

 

I just got my heads re-done maybe 20,000 miles ago, so i'm not sure if i would see any changes.

 

Yea probably won't see many changes. I am the second owner of my truck and I don't know how well the orig owner treated my truck, how long he went before changing the oil and so on. The main thing is that my truck runs a lot smoother and more efficent then before. I just wanted to try it since it's only $10 a can and it wouldn't hurt anything.

Seafoam = Ownage. i love that stuff. it was like night and day when i did it to my truck at 100,000 miles.

 

I really didn't notice anything when I did mine. Ran just as good as it did before.

 

I thought PM-3 was the new thing?

 

I had about 90k on mine and noticed a good difference.

 

Mine has almost 200k on it, I just did it the other day and wasn't really impressed. The engine ran absolutely great before, But I thought it would help since It had so many miles, I didn't notice any difference at all really. It didn't even smoke that much when I did it either. I just figured it didn't have as much carbon as I thought it would have.

 

didnt help my truck too much but helped my dads accord alot. ran better and accelerated better. same w/ my buddys dodge

 

i can say i saw a noticable increase in the truck. 75XXX miles and runs like it did when i bought it in 03 . i am a believer

It does wonders IF your engine needs to be cleaned. If you run alot of cheap gas, and short trips, and low rpm, you can build up some good amount of carbon.

I do it once a year on all my vehicles. Hell it completely stopped the pinging on my 3.0 flex. Those ALWAYS ping...

 

i run the cheap gas and drive almost all city and have 55xxx miles and last time i got an oil change the people said i needed an engine flush? never heard of it before but i said no to it, figured it would be a waste of money. is this seafoam stuff kinda like that or what? please school me on this stuff. where to buy, where to put it in at... etc.

 

They probably just want your money.. But it wouldn't a bad idea.

Its not quiet the same, the kind they wanted to do for you involves running detergents through the oil prior to an oil change to really scrub all the crud out of the oil passages.

Seafoam does the same thing, but in the intake and the combustion chamber, burning out carbon deposits and cleaning fuel injectors and just making your engine all squeaky clean on the inside.

You can buy it at most parts stores, autozone or what not. Its like 8 bucks a can now tho.

 

PM-3 is the way to go if you can get your hands on it, Seafoam doesn't work nearly as well as PM-3 but it's better than nothing.

 

well what i noticed my truck ran a hell of a lot better, slightly better throttle response.
and it just sounded heather.hahah.

it was cool watching all the carbon and whatnot built up pour out.
i did it at school in my autoshop right out side and it smoke the whole building out.haha.

 

Okay....119 big ones on the clock and this thread has talked me into it.

I have the pinging that's mentioned here, I have a barely-noticable rough idle and now I'm highly curious if this will solve or reduce those issues.
