MAF Upgrade and airfilter...

Ok. After using K&N airfilters for the past 10 years or so I have a question. Is there even a MAF upgrade for the 3.0 V6 (2004 Ford Ranger Edge 2WD if you're wondering)? and what air filter would you guys recomend that doesn't require oiling?

Thanks,
Steve

Are you sure? I already went to Motorcraft Oil because it's more affordable and it's just as good as the expensive oil. But not really sure about the air filter.

Why do you want to change? You might have to clean and oil your filter a few times a year.

I recharge it every time I change my oil because I live on a dirt road and I'm sick of reoiling it. plus wanting to see what else is availible for the old 3.0.

Thanks for the link but not really alot of info on there yet and I can't log in there because I was banned permanently from there for being an a$$. but I will keep a watch on there for any info though. Thanks.

Well sometimes I wonder about certain things that Ford motor company uses like the airfilters, spark plugs and wires and what have you. Mainly due to quality. I want to use something that will last and not destroy what's left of my wallet. Has Ford really stepped up their quality over the years cause my truck is nearly 6 years old now and haven't really seen too many changes to the ranger either to be honset.

you don't need a new MAF just make or buy an adapter to bolt onto your stock MAF housing and put a cone filter on. AEM makes a dry element filter that works great, no oiling or chemicals needed.

Not a bad Idea. It just flashed into my mind. Why not make my own CAI system. I found a "track use only" air filter in autozone not long ago. I might go that route when I get paid again next week. Which would be better cleaning the MAF or replacing it with a stock one? I'm also looking at new plugs and wires, and Ignition systems. Any help I can get would be very nice.
