water leak at temp sensor

I have a "pinhole" leak at the base of the mounting for the "temperature sender" sensor. It's a thin direct sideways stream which projects about 6 inches - I replaced the radiator lower hose which includes the side branch hose leading up to the base of the temp sensor. I thought the leak might have been just above the old hose due to the age of the spring hose clamp, but now I see that the leak is above the hose, perhaps where the hose mounting tube is welded to the sensor base mount. It this unusual? I'll call Ford to see if this mounting can be purchased. The engine is 15 years old, so perhaps a pinhole could have rusted through the side of the mount.
