what is this?

so i am about to swap cabs on my truck, and was disconnecting things. and this kinda tore. is it important, can i drive it without this item? it goes from the airbox inlet tube to the passenger exhaust manifold. what's it do?

That allows air heated by the exhaust manifold to be used in the engine.
A pre-heater for the air, better for cold engine driving, there is usually a vacuum operated valve to switch to outside air after warm up.

is that going to affect my drivability? keep in mind, this is a truck i still drive on a daily basis, even with the interior down to two seats and the dashboard. my friends call it the spartan truck, because there's nothing in it.
