Ok im still new here, and alot of people wanted me to explain how i am going to eventually have my little 3.0 going fast.

So here is a list with the hp and torgue gains i will get....btw these are all dyno tested and proven numbers

Stock 3.0L V6 has 155hp and 185 torgue on my 2001 model

JBA Headers= 20hp, 26torque
JBA EVOL exhaust= 15hp, 25 torque
JBA spark plug wires= 5hp, 8 torque
K&N FIPK= 16hp, 20 torque
Performance cooling fan= 12hp, 16 torque
JET chip= 16 hp, 20 torque

That comes to a grand total of 239 horsepower, with 320 ft/lb or torque!

Beleive me or not, i will have all of these parts before Christmas, and i will have it dynoed for you guys. It will be awesome!!! And i still have to research into a racing cam, but i do know of a company that has one for the 3.0 liter. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to ask me here.

What the 3.0L can do

would these parts have a similar effect on a 4 banger?

that website is where the cam is that I am considering to buy, but I will have to call them first and talk to them about it before I make my decision

adding all of that stuff will certainly make a difference for you, but wont make out exactly 239 hp and 320 ft/lb of torque.. those numbers you've found on the products aren't really accurate to begin with!! anyways tho, it looks like you're gonna have a lot of fun over the next couple months with all the new mods you'll be doing!!! good luck with it and let us know how it turns out!

The numbers are accurate, i got this info from a site thats tests all the products on the cars and gives the dyno numbers, and this is exactly what they came up with,

i will have loads of fun, especially since this is only going to cost me less than $500, seeing as i already have the jba headers, exhaust, and fipk comes in tomorrow :D

no you wouldnt, according to your profile you have not even half the stuff i listed, and different brands at that. JBA headers give more hp and torque than any other exhaust brand

cobra wheels dont make the ranger faster, just faster looking 8)

Did that site dyno-test all that equipment TOGETHER at the same time, or dyno-test each item one at a time? If they tested them one-at-a-time, then you are operating under a modding falacy. Each mod affects other mods, so you can't just add up the projected HP gains for each mod and get a HP total. Now if they dyno-tested a 3.0L with all of those mods and it came out to 239hp, that would be something else entirely.

If you would be so inclined I would implore you to get a baseline dyno run in stock condition so that you can know exactly how much HP you gain w/ your mods. As a 3.Slow owner I'm eager to see your results.

Best of luck to you!

So what's the address to that site?

Notice how much increase the company itself advertises: (This is for a 4.0l, so the 3.0l will show less of an increase)

Yea i would belive everything i read. One mod to a unmoded truck could open alot of restristed hp where as if you had say not just headers but exaust too the gain may not be as much. I would just be leary of what you read. And keep in mind that this is number at the flywheel, not the rear wheels.

And um, i have headers, just not on the truck yet..

Borla is the same as JBA in specs of performance, in some cases better...

I also have a "CUSTOM" tuned superchip"www.bamachip.com , way better than the SHITTY Jet chip you wanna buy, JET SUCKS ***, ask anyone on this site who has any REAL knowledge about chips...

Other than that, Stock plugs and wires, will be pretty much the same as the JBA plugs, maybe 1 hp difference...

And i have pretty much everything else you listed..

Oh yea, and a 4.0, thats 50 more hp right of the back

Good luck man, dont go with the JET chip...

EDIT: id be happy with 200 WRHP...lol

Yea the wires aren't going to free up no 5 hp there are people running s/c and running stock wires because new wires are not needed. I wish my e-fan, exaust and intake would add 50 hp when i had the rang.

getting new tires

Leo has:
JBA Headers= 20hp, 26torque
exhaust= 15hp, 25 torque
FIPK= 16hp, 20 torque
chip= 16 hp, 20 torque

Leo doesn't have:
Performance cooling fan= 12hp, 16 torque
JBA spark plug wires= 5hp, 8 torque

Leo has but you won't:
Poweraid Throtlle Body Spacer
Pro-M MAF

Good Luck. You might hit in the 150s rwhp (~180 flywheel hp) if you're lucky but don't be too optimistic, you'll just end up disappointed.

my clear corners (day pictures are up)

Hey when he has all this done he should run Doug pretty good, hahahah.

Best of luck to ya man, I hope your not shot down to hard when you get the actual Dyno numbers.

Also on GE there is a member screamin demon who has done a good amount of work to his motor
cat-back flowmaster 40 series dual exhaust, 65mm custom modified 97 contour maf, 21lb. injectors, K&N air filter, 01 Escape TB 60mm, modified upper intake mainifold, MAC air induction system, ASP underdrive pulley, JBA Headers, port and polished lower intake, port and polished heads, diablo chip, electric fan, 4.10 gears, limited slip rear end, torcco converter with 3200 RPM stall, comp cam custom regrind, vacuum canister.

You might want to try and get ahold of him to see his numbers and whatnot. Also Derek8819 a former member of GE did a number of mods to his 3.0 also. He had been running a 100 shot with it as well. He really knows his stuff. He eventually sold the Edge and got a 4.6 Mustang, supercharged it, maxed the boost and still wanted speed, took the charger off put a nitrous shot on, still didnt have enough so he pulled the 4.6 and put a 5.4 in. He would also be a good person to try and get ahold of.

Again, good luck...

[EDIT] I suppose Coys a little quicker than me :cry:

oh and props to Derek because also on that same day, he pulled almost 200 on the 75 shot
