what gatorback belt to use for the 3.0?
just like the topic says. my belt has been squeaking nonstop for a week or two. my belt has always been squeaky when its wet out, but ever since i cleaned my engine compartment and used engine dressing, the squealing has gone off the charts. i've tried silicone belt spray and it gets rid of the squeak, but only for a day or two.
what gatorback belt should i use on my 3.0? i dont have any pulley modifications, so it would just be a stock replacement. |
i cant think of the number, but just go to an autoparts store and tell them 3.0l with airconditioning and theyll find it, thats all i did...

http://www.goodyearbeltsandhose.com/...buy/index.html i think its the 89.4 but www.autozone.com will tell you... Rand |
Buyer beware: I went and bought a gatorback last winter, only to find out the part # was correct for my engine, but was 1.5" longer than the one I pulled off, the stock one. I found the correct one....it helps to have an extra belt to compare to.

I didn't have any problems going to autozone and having the guy look it up in the computer for me for my 3.0L. It was $30 well spent. It never squeaks.
|
I think it's the one that ends in 885 (88.5" length). I may be wrong but I THINK the full part number is 4060885 -- but that's from memory. Search and you'll find the answer -- it's on here somewhere.

close john... its 4060882 ;o)
and it fixed the squeal woot woot!! |
Oops! Sorry, told you it was from memory! Very good. They're excellent belts.

Yep autozone has the 3.0 belt listed for the 4.0 application too..
I called their corp. headquarters and *****ed about it. |
Hate to bring this old topic back up but I have a 94 3.0 and the part number list 4060895 w/ A/C. So this is wrong? Its really smaller the 4060882? Thanks alot guys,
