What to get with tax return?
What to get with tax return?
I'm getting somewhere in the range of $600. I'm looking at getting a pulley package from Underdog. That'll soak up $200. Now if I had a very good engine mechanic, what do you think about the roller rockers? For $249 they might be worth it. And the Screamin Demon coil pack won't work for my truck right? 2002 3.0L. The site doesn't list it as supported so I'm guessing not. I'm open to all suggestions. Oh by the way I've already got an efan but it's just not on right now. I'm waiting for the weather to get nice again.
You think a tuner first? I wouldn't mind the added "bling" under the hood. I've got an exhaust already even though it's just a dynomax cat back. I've thought about the remote start but it just doesn't seem like it'd be a good way to spend my money because the cold doesn't bother me.
What is the difference between the rogue and bama? I'm pretty familiar with the Bama one just because it's been discussed here a lot but the rogue one is new to me. Is it the same unit just a different type of tune? I would like to save a little bit of the money but who knows.
EDIT:
I think I want to wait on the tuner. If I get some of the other stuff then I can get the tuner specialized for those mods. The roller rockers and pullies sound pretty good.

Well so far it seeming like a tuner is what everyone recommends but like I said what if I plan on doing modifications that will change the way the truck needs to be tuned? So therefore I'm kinda leaning toward the pullies and rockers. I'd like to find out who has either or both and what kind of mileage improvements (if any) they've seen.
Agreed, but who around us has the knowledge for the rockers? I'm just scared that we'll get it apart and then not know how to get it back the way it was. But I'm still determined to get it done.

Rockers are very very easy to install, probably a 10mm bolt holding down your current valves and all you have to do is undo that bolt, and tighten the new ones to whatever the torque specs are, it should be a quick easy job. Alldata says it pays about 2 hours to do valve cover gaskets so if you had someone that knew what they were doing in about 2-3 hours youd be set!
By Wayne you mean graniteguy right? So rockers and pullies it seems like would be the best. I'm trying to think of anyone around here that's really good with engines. I'm actually really excited about getting these.
