Gatorback the way to go?
I am getting my alternator rebuilt today, and figured while I am at it I could use a new belt, and have heard a lot of guys say go Gatorback. Is it worth the extra money? I want something good and am willing to spend it if its worth it. At Autozone here they have it for 45 bones and I dont have time to mailorder since I am leaving Saturday for a roadtrip. Thanks

dude you buy a gatorback, for 45 bux, and in a yr you replace it, you buy a different brand less then 20 then in a yr you replace it, but you got money to pee away have at it, here in fla i change mine out once a yr, and 2 months again changed out my idler, and tensioner pullies along with the duralast 11 dollar belt, quite happy

did you ever think that your bad pullys caused your belt to fail? you are literally the only person that ive ever heard say anything bad about the GB belt. although its possible you got a defective one, ore it failed for other reasons

been there, thought about it, and realized i will never get wut i put into it, i think its an electrical issue i had a while back, my fuel pump kept grounding out and shutting the truck off, by blowing the fuse, i stuck a piece of wire and used that, no issue with the truck, but i cant remember is that is when the noise started

Got the gatorback and my alternator rebuilt. LOVE IT! Took awhile to get that beefy belt on but i love it. First time I replaced the belt in 4 years of owning it with 103000 miles. Had rained and was wet this morning, and it was silent! Cant really put my finger on it but everything runs better, and just feels tighter. Maybe its just the silence. The newly rebuilt alternator was beautiful, looked brand new, and I believe he replaced the pulley. had been wanting to buy the crank underdrive pulley, but guess i will hold off now that I spent 45 bones on the 48" belt. Thanks guys!

I know man. I thought about that after i did it all. I was just rushing around trying to get it all fixed in time for my trip, while at work at the same time and completely forgot about yours for sale. I just thought while I had the belt out go ahead and replace it, and had my lil brother pick up a gatorback. Im an idiot.

I like the GatorBack, I have had mine for about 2 years and it seems to be losing the traction on the underside of the belt. I think I will be replacing it very shortly with another.
