the other day i was offroading when a 03 xtrea(however you spell it) challenged me to a pull off and i was like wtf ok, and believe it or not i pull that S.O.B.!!!!!! heck yeah!!

 

well done.... 3.0 all the way!

 

the way everyone talked on here they made it sound like my 3.0 couldnt out pull a go cart, haha

 

guess i proved them wrong haha

 

our little 3.0's are drastically underrated. Mine has pulled my dads old 22ft boat with no problem and i was sitting on 35's when i did it. Granted i was hauling *** off the line but it pulled it

 

i would say the driver of the Xterra didn't know how to drive.....

 

usually the truck with the least amount of power will win, due to the stronger one will spin its tires losing all traction, and the lesser one still has traction therefore winning. it is mostly all about how well your truck will grip the road vs the other.

Yeah my roommate drives an 03 Xterra (supercharged) and it stomps my poor 3.0

Never done a pull off, but it blows my 3.0 away in any other kind of performance challenge.

i could see the ranger out pulling a 03 x-terra, they had the poo 3.3 liter, it was a turd i drove 1 b4...now an 05+ x-terra u wouldnt have a chance

 

Imagine what you could have done with a 4.0. The 3.0 isn't a bad motor. I have worked and seen them worked big time and they did fine. they just have less power than the 4.0.

 

I had a 1974 Pinto. Real tire smoker and handled like a row boat. I did have a lot of fun with it and it never let me down. That 2.3 just kept on running.
