Will Taurus Amsoil Ea Air Filter drop ins work?

I'm going to be yanking out my K&N Gen II soon, and putting the intake back to stock (with a larger opening in the box). I noticed that drop in AMSOIL Ea Air Filters are not made for the Ranger, but for Taurus.

Since the Taurus and Ranger use the same type of engine, do they also use the same drop in filter size?

I know I can pop on a universal cone filter, but I'm really wanting to just sell off the K&N intake system as a whole.

The air filter (for Taurus): http://www.amsoil.com/catalog.aspx?code=EAA124-EA
AMSOIL Ea filters: http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/eaa.aspx

3.0 right? I think the airbox is different. Also I believe the Taurus started using a DOHC engine at one point.

Call them up and give them the dimensions and see if they have anything.

why not just buy a drop in k&n filter?

If you are looking for an oil less filter I believe AEM is starting to make drop in filters.

^^^Nevermind.

I'd rather just stay away from the oil-based filters, Downey. Plus these are better...same airflow as a K&N and filters out MUCH better. Only draw back is they only last 4 years, but the price equals out to $10 a year.

Yes, I have a 3.0. I'm not sure what type of engine their DOHC is, the filter I have listed has a 'U' in the VIN code. I will give them a call tomorrow or next week to see if they can fit it up to anything. I am shocked they don't have Explorers as an option!

If this doesn't work out, what about TrueFlow?

motorcraft.com. use the search function to find your filter, then hit the "BG" button. It will list all the ford vehicles that use the same part.

Thanks!

Looks like it won't work with the Taurus filter, and I'll have to buy the Ranger filter!
