im looking for a lightning style exhaust tho will it be different?

Alex98 02-22-2009 07:43 PM

my muffler isnt placed vertically its done horizontally, none of that really matters just look at the curvature of the pipes on a diagram and do it that way, i mean it really doesnt matter what the muffler looks like, just have them fit it all together, trust me they will figure it all out if they are a good shop

Pay a visit to an exhaust shop. Tell them what you want, they will know exactly what you need. A good shop can put it exiting anywhere you want it.

Alot of mufflers, such as Flowmaster and my Borla won't mount horizontally, there isn't room between the driveshaft and the frame.

but i am going to buy the exhaust and tip + a cat cuz mine is cloged, but i was going to buy all of the stuff then have the shop bend some pipe and weld it up.

A shop can tell you EXACTLY what you need to buy, what they need to install it, and I'm sure they could get everything for you if you wanted.

dangerranger93 02-23-2009 12:45 PM

they could but it would be marked up like a mofo

Downey 02-23-2009 03:05 PM

i have emissions to your truck is old enough that they don't check the tail pipe the emissions testing is your gas cap. that's it.

Alex98 02-24-2009 05:33 PM

depending on the state laws obd1 is tailpipe and obd2 is through the computer

and do you live in northern va?

Downey 02-24-2009 06:40 PM

no 95% of shops cant afford the stuff to do it go to a ma and pa shop you will be fine and if he was an obII truck he couldn't do it because it would throw a code

ranger024x4 02-24-2009 06:42 PM

in order to register your vechical in northern va (or counties closest to dc), you have to get an emissions test unless you have your car registered as an antique (25 years and older) or as a truck (GVW over 10,000lbs)

Downey 02-24-2009 06:54 PM

that sucks guess you will have to keep the cat

dangerranger93 02-25-2009 01:38 PM
