I want a deep agressive sound. I am going to get an H pipe also. I just wanna kno what flowmasters or magnaflow/others will sound the best. But what would sound better the super 40's or the super 44's on a 4.0L OHV???
I will have dual exhaust that exits before the back tires. with no cats :P

If I were going to chose between the two I would go with the Super 44.

FYI, if you're doing this to your V-6 Ranger your torque is going to go into the pooper. No matter what you put on your ranger, it's not going to sound like a big V-8.

I like the sound of my si/do flowmaster delta 40. It's loud, but not annoying or ricey sounding which is what you're going to run into if you try going just for the really loud option.

My opinion would be to keep the cats and head towards a single inlet dual outlet muffler. But, everyone has an opinion and it's ultimatly your decision.

or you cold not worry about the little bit of loss you have and run a truck with one cat and no muffler and dauls and have it sound like a mean v8 like my truck. but you probly want a muffler so i would go with a super 44. they are supost to sound nice.

super 44's were meant to run off big block engines. do a true dual setup with these and your Hp, Tq and MPG are going to go like this

Flowmaster 40 series, SI/DO are pretty loud for sure.

Magnaflow/Borla sound relatively the same, more expensive (stainless steel), and have a deep tone, thats what I run on my truck (magnaflow), sounds awesome, my buddy has a flowmaster and I like the sound of his too

flow master original 40 is gonna be louder than the super 44 oh and btw a super40 and super44 are the same muffler just the 44 has a smaller case
mine is a si/do flowmaster og. 40 with all the cats and stock size in (1.75?) and 2.25 out and it sounds good imo but at higher rpms it will sound a lil ricey

An H pipe wont do anything for you unless you do a TRUE DUAL exhaust setup.....meaning........no single in/dual out muffler. I'm talking actual dual exhaust.

I find that the Super 40 gets better mileage than my Original 40...probably due to the Super 40 uses the delta flow technology and the Original does not. But then again, I had the super40 w/ tailpipes and my original dumped right after the muff.

I love my Original 40 i have now.....but want to hear it with a tail pipe. I'm dumped right now.

The Super40 and Super44 are virtually the same muffler, but the Super40 is built into a 5x10" case, while the Super44 is a 4x8" case i believe.
