Air Inake Mac Vs K&N
I was wondering how these stack up? I was looking at either the MaAC intake: http://jusnesmodified.com/store/inde...roducts_id=258
Or the K&N: http://jusnesmodified.com/store/inde...roducts_id=154
Does K&N really give better performance? Also, these show new MAF, do they really come with it? Do I have to order one?

I've used both.. Heres my take on ' intakes '.
Mac - Its metal. People will say it gets hot and then heats the incomming air. I used digimoto and measured a whole 2 degrees of intake temperature charge difference.. whoopie, has no effect on performance. Didn't see any real gains in performance.. ' looks nice ', not much else to be said.
K & N - Too pricey. I think they used a faulty dyno in their testing as the alledged performance gain.. almost non-existent. I believe I saw all of 5hp? I already had a full exhaust on before the intake, I was expecting to see more.
Factory airbox, modded with a good air filter - Best way to go if your not doing a power adder. You already have the parts, buy an aircleaner. Invest the money into a good exhaust or an E-Fan where you'll gain in milage ( $ savings ) and there will be less parasitic drag on your engine. Its a win-win situation.

I vote for this one.

Both the AEM and K&N give you about 13hp. The intakes from K&N only give you 3.25hp for the OHV 4.0L btw. The SOHC 4.0's actually get some good gains from intake replacment. I would take the AEM over the K&N because it has a better filter from what I hear and it is a dy filter so all you have to do is clean it once and while and you won't have any filter oil getting all over your MAF. I've heard of this happening but it is rare.
