Engine Knock

Will noisy lifters make the motor sound like It's knocking, or is there something else I should be looking at. It does it at idle and under light load, but when under heavy acceleration it does not do it. I am running motorcraft 10w30 syn blend with a motorcraft filter. Also change oil every 3000 miles. Just getting some ideas since this motor only has 64,000 miles and hoping i can get well over 100,000 miles thanks.

The lifters make a light ticking sound, the rods make a knocking noise.

In this late OHV production ford shortened piston skirts allowing the pistons to wobble in the bore causing something called "piston slap". On fresh oil change my truck will sound like a small diesel idling, but will go away after some miles.

Probably just piston slap like Blhde said, just notice it more with the syn blend then i did with conventional.
