4.0 coolant level

hey i have a 98 ranger that i just bought and i was checkin the oil and noticed that there was no coolant in the overflow bottle next to the washer fluid. how much is supposed to be in there? i took a quick glance and didn't see a line marked LOW. i would look in the owners manual but i do not have one, thanks.

Typically about halfway or a little more should be sufficient.

Water pump?? Upper or Lower radiator hoses??? Heater core hoses?? Best thing you can do is go rent a pressure tester from the auto parts stored. Pressurize the system and look for the leak.

majoroty of the time the water pump will leak for a while and as the engine is running and as your driving it will sling a small amount of coolant and it will dry so you never have a drip at first. id check the water pump and hoses. pressure testing is good idea too let us know

I found that same problem about a week ago, I just filled it back up to a little over halfway like was previously stated on here...we will see how it holds up..
