exhaust ?'s

Let me start this way: I've searched here and on RPS for answers to these questions and the particular topic. It is not a muffler opinion, or anything cliche' about that. Just something I ran across.

I was browsing through Summit Racing and found that Magnaflow sells mandrel-bent exhaust tail sections. They make 3 different ones. 2 are for duals, one is a single passenger side 90 degree exit. I have links to the two pieces for rear-exit applications.

Also, they are listed on Summit as high as 2003. Same for 4wd vs. 2wd, super vs. regular cab, manual vs. auto, etc., as well. All engines have the same pipes, according to Magnaflow's website. So, it seems as though tail sections are fairly universal. Not a bad price either.

They're driver and passenger side exits, left and right of the trailer hitch. Has anyone ever used these to piece together an exhaust? Are they the replacement tail pipes from their kits?

Anyone ever give these a shot? If so, tell (and pics, if any are available).

BTW: you might wonder why I'm asking about sections VS. a cat-back kit. Truth is, I already have a custom exhaust on my truck. It is run Lightning-style, and the drone in the cab is really starting to annoy the crap outta me when I drive easily 40 miles a day or more. So I'd like to work with what I have, and possibly change the muffler to something new and exciting.

application: '06 FX4 level II, 5 speed, stock except a MAF adapter and the mentioned exhaust.

Thanks!!!

Haha... holy hell... haven't heard from you in a while!

Yeah, I don't hang out on the 'net as much anymore. Too busy with school and work and crap. Looks like you've done some work to your truck recently, awesome. I haven't had time (or extra cash) to touch mine, I've been dumping money into the Jeep and finally got it to a stage where it runs like a champ! Now I gotta do some TLC to the truck, it's begging me to lol

Links don't work. I don't see why the parts wouldn't work though, assuming you can still buy them. What was the price? It's possible it'd be cheaper to have an exhaust shop bend you up something.

50 bucks a side, full stainless tube. a lot of the shops around here can do a good price, but probably not that low for stainless mandrel bends.

I know why, they were shortened when i put the two of them together and re-copying didn't copy the whole link. lol. Only issue is, yes they are this price within about 2 dollars everywhere else, but they all are on back order. After working retail, I can understand why... not a very popular application like a Stang or Camaro
