Instead of going 75...go 65...should improve you MPG dramatically.

Yeah my truck gets 20+ mpg doing 60-65 as soon as I bring it up to 70-75 that drops to 17. How many miles do you have?

Best thing to do to improve your gas mileage is to slow down to 60-65, and watch your driving habits.

I'm averaging 21-22 right now stock with almost 75k miles, but I drive mostly highway to and from work.

Slow down.. Also.. run 92+ octane with the timing jacked up to 45BTDC in the load vs TP areas you drive. (have your tuner adjust this in you tune)

yeah i dont do much over 70 because on california gas i drop below 24 mpg after that

(for some reason if i head east and am running 85 octane instead of the 87 we have here im still capable of 23 doing 80)

I was going to say, my Ranger (before immanent death) went from 16 MPG's to 20 with the change of a fuel filter, plugs, wires, oil change, new MAF, and air filter. That's with the 4.0 OHV with 187K on the clock.

On the way back from WA, it was getting GREAT gas mileage. Like, 560 miles to no gallons. LOL!

I tested my Evo @ 3 different speeds. 45, 55, and 65 = 29mpg, 26mpg, and 24mpg. I want to do the same thing with the truck. I know these results are super accurate because I logged with my laptop. Each was about 5-7 miles on a flat highway road all by myself. Just proof that speed makes a huge difference. Now I usually only do between 60-65 on the highway, unless I see a Vette of course. In my truck I get a consistent 20.8mpg on about 2/3rds highway driving. This is with the 3.0/RWD combo.
